Late Hires

Late Hire Policy

 

Definition of a Late Hire

 

A late hire is an individual who:

  • Is hired after the 45th day before the first day of instruction, or

  • Is hired after the academic year has already begun

 

Late Hire Requirements

 

Late hires must complete:

  • 150 clock hours of initial training, and

  • 30 clock hours of field-based experience

These must be completed:

Prior to internship OR
Within 90 days of the assignment start date

 

Pre-Teaching Requirement for Late Hires

 

Late hires must successfully complete:

The first four courses of the Pre-Teaching Program
